Born in Egypt of Armenian parents and educated in England, Nora Armani is an actress who has appeared on stage and screen internationally including in the USA, Cairo, Paris and London.
She is also a writer whose own stage creations, Sojourn at Ararat, Nannto, Nannto and On the Couch with Nora Armani, have toured on four continents in over 25 cities, winning numerous accolades.
Invited to Armenia to star in the films Deadline in Seven Days, Last Station and Labyrinth, she has helped to promote Armenian cinema worldwide. Her poems have been published in art catalogues and poetry anthologies, her plays have been broadcast on French radio, and her feature film script, The Way Back (Al Awda) was awarded a special grant by the International Film Festival of Rotterdam. A transnational, Nora Armani is now back in the USA after years of dividing her time between Paris and London.
Her one-woman show, On the Couch with Nora Armani, which recently had a critically praised production by New York's Off Broadway Workshop Theatre, will be published as part of an anthology later this year.

PRODUCTIONS
SOJOURN AT ARARAT - Co-creation with Gerald Papasian based on Armenian poetry through the ages. On tour between 1986-1993.
NANNTO, NANNTO - One woman show with cello accompaniment based on texts and poems evoking Travel and Love from Japanese Haikai, English, French, Arabic, Italian, Armenian, Turkish, Russian, and Hebrew literature. Performed in Paris and Venice 2000-2001.
ON THE COUCH WITH NORA ARMANI - One woman play evoking through humor and nostalgia, issues of identity, belonging, womanhood, multiple cultures and sexual awakenings. Created in 2001 and still touring. (Also translated into French and Italian.)
SNOWFLAKES IN APRIL - One woman show with cello accompaniment evoking anti-genocide and anti-war feelings and dealing with issues of peace for humanity. In English with French, Italian and Arabic sprinklings. Created in April 2005 and premiered in Detroit on the occasion of the 90th anniversary commemoration of the Armenian Genocide. Performed also in Chicago, in April 2005.
LE VRAI PARI - Written for French Radio Aligre FM. The story of first love and its eternal grip. 2004.
